I have cedar mulch around everything but don't know if that has anything to do with it. I know the softer the leaves of the hostas the more damage they can get. I don't so anything special. We too used to have an above ground pool. Enjoyed it for a number of years but eventually were ready for it to be removed. I don't miss it much, except for these really hot days when it'd be nice to have a place to splash around and cool off!Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09792341123595520130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5402966891549129524.post-60320469683828923312014-07-21T20:13:26.268-05:002014-07-21T20:13:26.268-05:00Hi: I am your newest follower. If they don't sink any further, I'll leave them. If they do, I'll just move them out one brick-width over and fill in the hole with mulch. That will make the garden look bigger. ;) Diane at My Cottage Gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17855098457081134408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5402966891549129524.post-1450656172502826502014-07-16T09:23:58.058-05:002014-07-16T09:23:58.058-05:00It's clover -not planted, but taking over from...It's clover -not planted, but taking over from the grass which suits me just fine. I like ...What a beautiful property you have Diane. I like how you bordered the gardens with the bricks. Do you find they sink down in the ground after a few years and need bringing up to the proper level again? I put that black (ugly) plastic border to keep grass back from the gardens, but it's a bit unsightly. I'd love to put a low dry wall in limestone around each garden, but that gets costly. Your husband has great vision with the firepit and patio, and I love the Serenity Deck :) It reminds me of a little tree house set in the woods. Well covers are a bit bland, I think I'd build a wooden cover for it that can be removed easily when/if you need to access it, but would blend with the garden landscape better. Thanks for showing us around, your gardens are doing great .. this moderate summer keeps the plants from wilting :) Wendy xSeptember Violetshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10931133319044031928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5402966891549129524.post-77404567466444165722014-07-16T07:07:47.689-05:002014-07-16T07:07:47.689-05:00Oh my!
