Crocus 'Golden Yellow' |
Spring has finally sprung. We're still having really unusual cool temperatures here in my northeastern Ontario Zone 4.
I sprinkled a bit of blood meal around the tender shoots of my spring bulbs this year and it seems to have done the trick in terms of preventing them from becoming breakfast for some of the sweet things pictured below:
Beautiful crocus
ReplyDeleteWow, and I thought I had it tough with our late spring! Those are gorgeous crocus, are they the Dutch kind? I'm going to have to try the blood meal for deterring critters.
ReplyDeleteNot sure what kind they are. I checked the tag and it just says 'Crocus - Golden Yellow'. They seem to be a little smaller than some of the other varieties though. ;)
DeleteHurrah - spring has finally found you - better late than never.
ReplyDeleteCan't believe it took this long for your Crocus. You must really feel like you are hardly having a gardening season this year. Glad it's finally arrived for you though and they give you some color for now.

Beautiful crocus! The blood meal is wonderful idea! I should try that!
ReplyDeleteIt has been so darned cold hasn't it! I figure we are a month behind. My crocus are only just now finishing.
